PHYSIOLOGY

INTRODUCTION
What is physiology?
If we have to simplify all physiology in one word, this would be homeostasis.
Homeostasis is the equilibrium of our metabolism. It's characterized by maintainance in the regulation of all chemical process making up the metabolism. Metabolism is highly regulated, and every single process have consequences indirectly in other processes if disturbed. Therefore, physiolgy tries to understand how the body works under equilibrium and the mechanisms underlying homeostasis

PHYSIOLOGY AND FITNESS
Physiology can be widely applied in any health science (medicine, anatomy, nutrition, sports science, biochemistry,...). In the fitness community, a basic understanding of physiology can provide us with various advantatges such as:
- Understand how our body responds to physical activity
- Get to know main mechanisms to induce muscle hypertrophy
- Be able to improve your training program based on your physiological characteristics
- Improve muscle hypertrophy through nutrition and supplementation.
PHYSIOLOGY AND OUR BODY
Once again, physiology is so wide that can be also applied to understand our body at any level, from elements and cells to systems. Therefore, we can use physiology to understand how our body works. This can be later applied to improve nutrition, habits, and sports performance.
Our body is composed of many different systems that interplay and interact between them to undergo every metabolic reaction.
All systems interact between them to form what we know as our organism. Physiology can give us information about how these systems work and interact to be able to apply it in real life and improve certain aspects of our life.
